Le Tour de France 2002 - July 5-28

Every year during the month of July for three weeks, I am usually glued to the TV watching OLN (...Only Lance Network?) trying to catch a glimpse of the limited coverage that this sport channel provide of the Tour de France.

In 2002, I followed the Tour thru the Alps and the Pyrenees mountains of France and into Paris. Something that I always watched on TV, now it was live and history unfolded. It was nice seeing the US Postal boys lead Lance Armstrong and his yellow jersey into the Champs Elysees for his four consecutive victory at the Tour.

Every summer, I watched Phil Ligget & Paul Sherwen on TV.

Now I get to experience it with the OLN TV boys

Igor Gonzalez de Galdeano from ONCE had the yellow, here at the start of Stage 11 in the city of Pau. Talking to Igor in the Green jersey is Robbie McEwen from Lotto & David Millar from Cofidis. © GK

Stage 14 at Mt. Ventoux. When the big mountains came, the Postmaster General Armstrong, and his postal boys lieutenants were in total control of the race and the Maillot Jaune. © GK
